Guided Tours

Tours can be booked through Beachwalk in advance or on arrival
Nature:
Addo / Schotia

Depart from Beachwalk at 09:00am to Addo Elephant Park for 3 hour game drive followed by lunch. Transfer to Schotia Game Reserve for afternoon game drive, coffee and snacks, followed by evening game drive, dinner and drinks. Transfer back to Beachwalk / Bayside arriving around 10:00pm.

Deep Sea Cruise

Transfer to Algoa Bay Yacht Club at 8.00am for an 8.30am departure returning at 11.30am to 12.00am. Tour starts with a harbour cruise after which we exit port and set a course for the islands. Bottlenose dolphins are common throughout the year and they are seen in schools of between 50 and 400.

Humpback whales pass the bay from June until August on their way to their breeding and calving grounds off East Africa and return with their calves from October until the first week in January. The Southern Right whales start arriving in the bay during July and leave by the end of October.

Culture:
Half Day Township tour

Depart from B&B, down Russel Road (Native Stranger Location 1855) and Coopers Klooff, proclaimed in 1886. On the way, view many interesting places including:
- Red Location Museum
- New Brighton Station
- Beer halls & shebeens

Half Day PE City tour

Depart from hotel , travel along the cities beaches passing the PE harbour, the Campanile and Railway Station. We stop in the city centre at the Library, old Post Office, Feather Market Hall and City Hall. We view the oldest newspaper house in South Africa and the first Opera House as well as the Donkin Reserve and the view over Algoa Bay. Also visit No 7 Cuyler Street, Fort Frederick, St George’s Park Cricket ground, Settlers Park and the Horse Memorial.

Self-Drive Tours

Nature:
Tsitsikamma Adventures

Tsitsikamma – “place of sparkling waters”, stretches along 100km of wild, rocky, isolated beaches, abounding with Yellow-wood & Stinkwood forests, marine reserves, abundant birdlife and an extraordinary range of fauna and flora.

Depart from Beachwalk after breakfast, along the N2 to Tstsikamma (approx. 165km) passing Stormsriver, perhaps try the Ziplining, Canopy Tours or the World’s Highest Bungy Jump. After Tsitsikamma, depart for the famous “Big Tree”, a giant Yellow-wood thought to be 800 years old, leaving at around 16:00 to be back home at 18:30, in time for a sundowner & dinner.

Culture:
Settlers Tour

Depart from Beachwalk after breakfast along N2 to Grahamstown (approx. 135km), visiting 1820 Settlers Monument and touring Grahamstown, the Cathederal, Victorian Museum and Camera Obscura.

Depart Grahamstown for Bathurst on route 67, and continue on to Port Alfred before departing for Port Elizabeth via Kenton on Sea and Alexandria, arriving home in time for a sundowner & dinner.

Sightseeing:
St Francis – Cape & Port, Jeffreys Bay

Depart from guesthouse in the morning, heading to Humansdorp via Van Stadens Nature Reserve. Visit Port St. Francis and travel along the canals of St. Francis Bay and then on to Jeffreys Bay visiting the famous Super Tubes surfing spot, home of the Billabong Pro held here in June/July, and a stop over at The Billabong Factory shop. (150km round trip)

Ibayi Sunshine Saunter

This tour takes you out of town past our exquisite Western Beaches, through beautiful countryside and on to one of our interesting Game Parks. Travel along Marine Drive past Cape Recife Lighthouse and Schoenmakerskop, past Seaview and Beachview (see the Dolphins and Whales in season).

Stop at any of the coffee shops, restaurants and quirky shops along the way and perhaps a visit to Kragga Kamma Game Farm or Seaview Lion Park.

Return via old historical roads through country suburbs, see the new developing areas and elegant homes, arriving home in time for lunch or dinner. (80km round trip, takes between 3 & 8 hours, depending on how long you took to ‘meander’)
